For 4 days ahead we’re planning to bolang (go) around bali. Day 1 we plan to go to tukad capung waterfall then eat at keboen bistro ubud, then visit sukowati market. Day 2 we go to tegal wangi beach (nearby ayana resort) then to green bowl beach – took 200-300 stairs go down below and last (leyeh-leyeh) take a nap at pandawa beach. When in Pandawa beach, we paid hundred thousand rupiahs/person to get an exclusive facilities at Maemae’s corner. Its specialities are their best accessories for wefie.
They provide swing, flowers bouquet in the shape of love symbol, doraemon’s door, beanbag around the beach, and sleeping bag with a hoodie on the sea. For this facilities cost hundred rupiahs, fee include voucher F&B 50 thousand rupiahs.
Day 3 we go to nusa penida for a day trip to visit billabong’s angel, kelingking beach.
Let’s start for the review:
Review at tukad capung waterfall, I recommend you go to the waterfall in the morning to catch sunray and also to avoid a lot of visitors at site. You will go thru narrow aisle, a lot of steps down to the waterfall and limited area for taking a picture. Prepare tongsis, and three pod for slow speed to capture the waterfall.
Keboen Bistro is located in Ubud, be ready that some of food in the menu is not halal. Some were using real bacon. They served an Italian food with an Italian chateau décor style. Its specialty was a brunch menu served with a bread or sandwich.
It’s been a while not visiting Sukawati market. This market presents famous bali souvenirs with a cheap price. I was looking for some décor accessories that can beautify my house. My target was buying mosaic mirror and paintings. And yes we bought 2 paintings with aboriginal dots style.
At night we strolling along kuta street and try to find flapjacks ice cream corner. I didn’t find my favorite flavor but it taste alright.
Next day we go to tegal wangi beach, its virgin beach still untouchable from domestic visitors. This site nearby Ayana resort surround by south beach cliff view and even I arrived around 10am but a bit hot and good for pre wedding shoots.
Green bowl beach was located near pandawa beach. Be ready for taking 200-300 steps down to the shore, you will find a choppy sea, not very wide shore. There are a lot of monkeys at the parking lot so be careful with them. Myself not recommend to swim, some foreigner just stay for sunbathing.
Pandawa beach is spacious white sandy beach, now they have manage the beach more comfortable to all of kind visitors who want to spend the day here. Now they provide parasailing, spacious parking for bus, start to build shopping mall, wide area open for lease / intend to attract tourists. I spent a long day here cos maemae facilities. Maemae facilities was provided by Japanese businessman. During the day he keep an eye on how the business goes.
Day 3 goes to nusa penida. We left the hotel in the early 6:00am to sanur beach, get ready to depart to nusa penida by idola express. Cost for round ticket per pax is 150.000, I think that was the cheaper price to go by speedboat.
The things that we don’t expect when arrived in nusa penida island is bad signal and also bad road trip. As none of us were using telkomsel so we cannot depend our road trip by google map. Back to an old school way by asking local people to find our way to kelingking beach and billabong’s angel – broken beach. We only got the opportunity to go to 2 places in about 5 hours in nusa penida. For your note that nusa penida is an old bali in 70’s. So don’t expect great motorcycle for rent, gas station, great restaurants, and great hotels.
